1. Who Baby Kangoo is for

Baby Kangoo is designed for parents, guardians, and other adult caregivers.

It is not intended to be used directly by children to create or manage their own accounts.

Information about babies or children is entered by an adult account holder for the purpose of keeping memories, following development, and using Baby Kangoo’s family features.

2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use Baby Kangoo, you may provide the following information.

Account information

This may include:

• Email address
• Account identifier
• Authentication information
• Subscription and account status

Baby Kangoo currently uses passwordless email authentication. Baby Kangoo does not store your email account password.

Baby and family information

You may choose to provide information such as:

• Baby or child's name
• Date of birth
• Country or region
• Development information
• Milestones
• Mood records
• Memories
• Journal entries
• Story interview answers
• Notes about routines, feeding, sleep, development, discoveries, or everyday experiences
• Information about additional babies or children added to your account

You decide what information you want to record.

We encourage users not to enter information that is unnecessary for the Baby Kangoo features they wish to use.

3. Content created through Baby Kangoo

Baby Kangoo may use information you provide to create or personalize features such as:

• Development insights
• Milestone information
• Memory summaries
• Story chapters
• Journal prompts
• Age-related guidance
• Personalized content based on the baby's age or recorded information

Some of these features use artificial intelligence.

AI-generated content is provided for memory keeping, organization, inspiration, and general informational purposes.

Baby Kangoo does not provide medical diagnosis or medical advice and should not be used as a substitute for professional healthcare.

4. Artificial intelligence

Certain Baby Kangoo features use Google Gemini to generate content such as stories, summaries, or insights.

When you request an AI-powered feature, the information necessary to fulfill that request may be securely sent to the AI service for processing.

Depending on the feature, this may include portions of:

• Journal entries
• Memories
• Story answers
• Milestone information
• Development-related information

Baby Kangoo sends only information needed to perform the requested feature.

AI processing is performed server-side. API credentials used to access AI services are not exposed to users through the Baby Kangoo app.

We do not use Baby Kangoo content to create advertising profiles.

5. How we use information

We may process information to:

• Create and maintain your Baby Kangoo account
• Authenticate users
• Store and synchronize baby profiles and memories
• Provide journal, milestone, mood, story, and insight features
• Personalize content according to information you provide
• Generate requested AI-powered content
• Maintain Premium subscription access
• Process and restore subscription entitlements
• Provide customer support
• Diagnose technical problems
• Maintain the reliability and security of the service
• Prevent misuse
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell personal information.

6. Supabase

Baby Kangoo uses Supabase for services including database infrastructure and authentication.

Information associated with your Baby Kangoo account may therefore be processed by Supabase on our behalf.

Baby Kangoo uses access controls, including database authorization and Row Level Security, to help prevent one user’s private information from being accessed by another user.

Sensitive subscription-related updates are handled through restricted server-side operations rather than directly by the client application.

7. Hosting and analytics

Baby Kangoo uses Vercel for application hosting and infrastructure.

Baby Kangoo also uses Vercel Analytics to understand general application usage and technical performance.

Analytics may include information such as:

• Pages or application screens visited
• General usage patterns
• Device or browser characteristics
• Performance and technical information

Baby Kangoo does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app advertising tracking.

Baby Kangoo does not currently request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework because the app does not track users across apps or websites for advertising purposes.

8. Payments and subscriptions

Baby Kangoo offers optional Premium subscriptions.

Purchases on iOS

Subscriptions purchased inside the Baby Kangoo iOS app are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

Apple handles payment information.

Baby Kangoo does not receive or store your complete credit or debit card details.

Baby Kangoo receives information necessary to determine and maintain subscription access, which may include:

• Product identifier
• Transaction identifier
• Original transaction identifier
• Subscription status
• Expiration date
• Renewal information

Purchases on the web

Subscriptions purchased through Baby Kangoo on the web may be processed by Stripe.

Stripe processes payment details according to its own privacy and security practices.

Baby Kangoo receives information necessary to identify and maintain the subscription, such as customer, subscription, payment status, and entitlement information.

Baby Kangoo does not store your complete payment card details.

9. Subscription access across platforms

Baby Kangoo may recognize Premium access associated with the same authenticated Baby Kangoo account across supported platforms.

For example, a user with an active web subscription may retain Premium access when using Baby Kangoo on iOS.

Baby Kangoo maintains information identifying which supported billing system currently grants the account’s Premium entitlement.

10. App Store Server Notifications

For subscriptions purchased through Apple, Apple may send Baby Kangoo server notifications about subscription events.

These events may include:

• Subscription purchase
• Renewal
• Expiration
• Billing retry
• Grace period
• Changes to automatic renewal
• Refund
• Revocation

Baby Kangoo uses this information to keep your subscription status accurate.

These server notifications are technical communications between Apple and Baby Kangoo. They are not push notifications displayed on your device.

11. Sharing information with service providers

Baby Kangoo does not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share or process limited information with service providers when necessary to operate Baby Kangoo.

Current service providers may include:

• Supabase for authentication and database infrastructure
• Vercel for application hosting and analytics
• Google Gemini for requested AI processing
• Stripe for supported web subscription payments
• Apple for App Store subscriptions and StoreKit services

These providers process information for their respective operational purposes and maintain their own privacy and security practices.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of Baby Kangoo, its users, or others.

12. Information about babies and children

Baby Kangoo stores information about babies and children because an adult account holder chooses to record that information.

Baby Kangoo is not designed for children to independently create accounts or submit their own personal information.

The adult account holder is responsible for deciding what information about their child or family to record in Baby Kangoo.

Because information about children deserves particular care, we encourage account holders to record only information that is useful for the features they choose to use.

13. Data security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Baby Kangoo.

These may include:

• HTTPS encryption for network communication
• Authentication controls
• Database authorization
• Row Level Security
• Restricted server credentials
• Server-side validation for sensitive subscription operations
• Separation of private account information between users

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. We nevertheless work to minimize unnecessary access, exposure, and collection of information.

14. Data retention

We generally retain account information and Baby Kangoo content while your account remains active or while it is reasonably necessary to provide the service.

Some limited information may need to be retained for purposes such as:

• Accounting
• Fraud prevention
• Subscription reconciliation
• Legal compliance
• Security

Where such retention is not required, account-associated content is deleted as part of the account deletion process.

15. Account deletion

Baby Kangoo allows users to request permanent account deletion directly from within the app.

Deleting your Baby Kangoo account removes the account and associated Baby Kangoo content from our active systems, subject to information that we may be legally required to retain.

Account deletion is permanent and may not be reversible.

Apple subscriptions

Deleting your Baby Kangoo account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Apple.

Apple subscriptions must be managed through your Apple subscription settings.

Baby Kangoo provides access to Apple’s subscription-management interface for Apple-sourced subscriptions.

Web subscriptions

If an active subscription was purchased directly through Baby Kangoo using Stripe, Baby Kangoo may cancel that applicable subscription as part of the account deletion process.

16. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may provide rights relating to your personal information.

These may include the right to:

• Request access to personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion
• Request information about how your information is processed
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request portability of eligible information
• Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing

These rights may arise under laws including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

17. International processing

Baby Kangoo uses service providers that may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal information.

18. Third-party privacy practices

Services used by Baby Kangoo, including Supabase, Vercel, Google, Stripe, and Apple, maintain their own privacy policies.

Their handling of information is also subject to their respective terms and privacy practices.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Baby Kangoo evolves, when new features are introduced, or when legal or regulatory requirements change.

When the policy is updated, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page.

Where appropriate, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
